Babysitting Luke

Auntie Amanda had a conference in Virginia Beach and Uncle Michael had some work training he needed to attend. That meant the VanHorn's got to babysit. It was so fun. THe kids got to go spend some quality Dad time touring D.C. That even included riding the metro. I got to have one on one time with my little Luke buddy. Amanda got to go to her conference and wish she was home having fun with the Van Horns too.

American Girl with Auntie

Two weekends ago Luke and Auntie came to town to take Sydney to the American Girl fashion show. Sydney had a great time. So much, in fact, that she is asking to be IN the fashion show next year. I got to stay home with Luke for some Auntie and Luke bonding. It was a win-win situation!

A day in the life of Saul

I'm not sure if these pictures tell a thousand words, but they do describe a typical day in the life of Saul.

Saul was born a climber and now that he is almost five he's moved into much bigger things than just pulling a chair across the room and climbing up on the table. In the summer he climbs trees, in the winter when it's too cold to go outside he climbs the walls, literally.

This is typically how Saul is dressed when we are at home, PJ pants and no shirt. This is him whether it's 70 degrees outside or 20 degrees. He also loves music. If you look in his ears he has a pair of Matt's earplugs in (don't worry I put them in for him). He calls it his iPod and he walks around the house (and the grocery store yesterday) singing to "the music" from his iPod. This pose is also typical Saul. He saw that I was going to take his picture ( I was trying to get a good picture of him and his iPod) so he had to do his Kung Fu moves. He can start Karate when he is 5 and I hope he loves it as much as I think he will. He is always showing off some new Kung fu move he has perfected.
